War 2 Box Office Update: Hrithik Roshan & Jr NTR Deliver Action, but Slower Than Expected
I finally got around to checking the numbers for War 2, and wow — they’re big, but not as crazy as I expected. The film roared into theaters with massive hype. I mean, Hrithik Roshan as Kabir, Jr NTR as Raghu, and Kiara Advani joining the YRF Spy Universe? That’s a dream lineup. But here’s where things stand right now.
How Much Has War 2 Earned So Far?
India collections: Somewhere around ₹208 crore after nine days.
Worldwide collections: Close to ₹320 crore already.
Second Friday: Barely ₹4 crore — yeah, that’s quite a drop from opening week.
It’s still a solid hit, but compared to Pathaan or Tiger 3, the pace feels slower. Those films flew past the ₹300 crore mark in a flash. It’s not rushing at the box office, more like Kabir calmly reloading in the middle of a mission.
What’s Working in War 2?
Hrithik Roshan looks unstoppable. Every single frame he’s in feels larger than life.
Jr NTR kills it as Raghu. Honestly, his intensity lifts half the movie by itself.
Kiara Advani fits right into the spy universe. She’s not just a pretty face in this one.
The action scenes are insane — proper big-screen moments. You can tell YRF poured money into every chase, every explosion. But the story? Some folks are calling it a little flat. I even caught myself drifting in a couple of scenes.
So, Is It a Hit or What?
Trade folks say the budget is around ₹400 crore. So yeah, theatrical numbers alone won’t recover everything. However, with digital streaming, satellite rights, and overseas deals, YRF will likely still find its way to the bank.
Fans are loving the Hrithik–NTR combo, but casual viewers are split — amazing action, mixed on the plot. I’d call it a strong hit, but not a record-breaker.
Bottom line: If you’re into the Spy Universe, War 2 is absolutely worth watching on the biggest screen you can find. If you’re expecting another Pathaan-level box office tsunami, maybe lower those expectations a notch.
