Hari Hara Veera Mallu Review: Pawan Kalyan’s Epic That Could’ve Been Better
Okay, so I finally watched Hari Hara Veera Mallu, and… well, it’s complicated. I was super hyped because Pawan Kalyan is in the lead, the story is about stealing the Koh-i-Noor diamond, and there’s some Mughal-era drama. Sounds awesome on paper, right? But watching it was a bit of a rollercoaster.

Hari Hara Veera Mallu Review: Pawan Kalyan’s Epic That Could’ve Been Better |
Some scenes are pure movie magic — like the big action sequences where you actually feel the tension. Pawan Kalyan looks stunning, and honestly, even when the movie drags, you just can’t take your eyes off him. But then there are these parts where the story just stumbles. I mean, I was like, “Wait, what just happened?” more than once.
The cast is good. Bobby Deol and Nidhhi Agerwal try hard, Nargis Fakhri and Nora Fatehi add glamour, and yes, the dance numbers are fun — especially Nora’s. But some characters barely get a moment to shine, which is a shame.
Now, the box office… ouch. Opening day was okay, around ₹34–35 crore, but then it dropped fast. Worldwide, it’s sitting near ₹106 crore, which is way below the ₹300 crore budget. Not great for a film that looked so epic.
If you missed it in theaters, don’t worry. It’s on Amazon Prime Video now, with some trimmed scenes and a slightly different climax. Honestly, it’s better than the theater cut, so at least you get a smoother experience at home.
Final thoughts? If you’re a Pawan Kalyan fan, you’ll enjoy it. If you just want a solid historical action movie, it’s okay but not amazing. Some moments wow, some make you yawn. I’d give it 3/5 stars.
Bottom line: Big ambition, some magic, a bit of chaos — that’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu in a nutshell.
